Implants

Posted under: Dentistry— Aalam Samsavar @ 1:29 pm

When poeple lose or break a tooth,  it might be replaced with an implant. Implants are artificial tooth roots that are surgically anchored by a surgeon and they a restorative dentist like Dr. Samsavar replaces the tooth in place. Implants are made out of differenttyepes of metallic and bone-like ceramic materials that are compatible with body tissues. Most implants are made out of Titanium. To place an implant first Dr. Samsavar determines where the implant should be placed, then the oral surgeon will perform a surgery to place the implant’s anchor in the jaw. It may take as long as six months for the jaw bone to grow around the anchor to hold it firmly in place. Once the implant is stable and the gums have healed, Dr. Samsavar will make the artificial teeth and fits them to the post portion of the anchor.
