Improving your oral health

In our Seattle Cosmetic Dental office our goal is to not only improve your smile by smile makeover procedures like cosmetic dental Porcelain veneers but also to maintain your nice, white smile.

Oral hygiene is the basic and the simplest way to maintain the integrity and the beauty of a smile makeover. When it comes to choosing tooth paste you have many choices and usually in dental offices a tooth paste with fluoride is recommended. In early 1990’s the Colgate-Palmolive Company introduced a new tooth paste called Colgate Total Tooth paste. This particular tooth paste is the only tooth paste in the market at present time that other than sodium fluoride also contains 0.3% triclosan and is approved by the FDA and endorsed by ADA. Triclosan is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent with anti-inflammatory properties that is marketed for use in oral products. There are quite number of studies that demonstrate clinically significant reduction in plaque, gingivitis, periodontal pocketing, calculus, and malodor from the use of the Colgate Total tooth paste when compared with a regular fluoride tooth paste.

In our Cosmetic Dentistry after performing a dental procedure like porcelain veneers or composite bondings we always recommend patients to use Colgate Total.
